Prince of Peace

20111218-095504.jpg

One might say that Jesus was the “prince” and the Christ is the “peace”. The two are inseparable, but the prince – Jesus as a human – no longer walks the globe. But the peace of Christ that he taught and lived is present forever.

World changing event

20111211-100531.jpg

The world was not the same after the birth of Jesus. A major change started to take place in human thought, and is still going on.
Jesus’ teachings revolutionised the concepts of love, of repentance, and of forgiveness.

Winter Blues?

I wonder if you are feeling low because of winter weather, short daylight hours, or all the suggestions of illness around at this time of year?
If so, then you may find a real tonic in the article entitled “Winter weather Blues – or Seasons of Good” by Linda Distel in the Christian Science Sentinel for week beginning December 5 th.
I love the way she tells us about the warmth of divine Love and the comfort that brings.

Ever-present

20111204-113729.jpg

God is never absent. He is always present and close, knows us and cares for us in the best and wisest of ways. Anything unlovable or unforgivable is not given to us by God and can be removed and healed by Him. God is Love, who sends us all the love we can possibly need.

What we love

20111202-131146.jpg

“What we love determines what we are.”
Mary Baker Eddy

God, Love, is always present. Evil has no place in societies where people are united in a bond of infinite Love.

All-inclusive God

20111125-093645.jpg

God includes all of His children- whatever their religion, politics, ethnicity, language or culture – in a universal embrace.
Global unity is found on the basis of one God, not on war and conquest, and the outcome is peace.
So we find the inescapable brotherhood of man, rooted and grounded in the all-inclusivity of God.

Stilling Strife

20111112-115519.jpg

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me” obeyed, is sufficient to still strife. God is the divine Mind. Hence the sequence:- Had all people’s one Mind, peace would reign.
Mary Baker Eddy Miscellany p 279

“I exhort therefore that …prayers ….be made for all men … That we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

Supplying our needs

20111104-120314.jpg

“God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
The Bible -Philippians

Supplying our needs is not limited to the satisfaction of such things as food, clothing, employment, but embraces intelligence, wisdom and understanding to make correct plans and decisions.
Prayer brings the realisation of harmony – the natural state of each of us – into our activities.

True Prayer

20111028-095258.jpg

Our humility in seeking God’s guidance will reveal solutions that meet the highest good for humanity.
Prayer not only brings us in tune with divine direction, but also softens resistance to needed change and allows us to move towards new ways of looking at issues.

CS Monitor 10:10/11 p46

True prayer is not asking God for love; it is learning to love, and to include all mankind in one affection.

Mary Baker Eddy
No and Yes p39

Goodness multiplied

20111021-114217.jpg

Through our recognition of God’s present guidance, people’s perceptions change and we see goodness multiplied.
Outreach is uplifted, practical efforts become more effective, and obstacles are overcome.
Our prayers remove the fear, hopelessness and apathy that suggest the problem is too great to address.
We can be certain that the God who cares for us is also with individuals in need, guiding them to good solutions.
